about

"PHASES OF TRICKSTER" is a sixteen minute progressive industrial instrumental divided into four passages: BLACK WIDOW, BLACK RACER, RAVEN, and BLACK COYOTE, all of which are trickster-teachers in various Native American cultures. My second of five sons X Tecumseh Clark duets on synthesizer with me on the first passage, but after that I play all the instruments, except for the bass guitar that was overdubbed for the 2020 remix, as was a tympani. This was originally recorded in 2001 as my contribution to a Humane Society benefit compilation.

Synthesizers: Ensoniq MR-61, Ensoniq TS-10. Guitar: Steinberger GM5T. Effect: Morley ECHO-CHORUS-VIBRATO. Amplifier: Johnson MILLENNIUM STEREO ONE-FIFTY.
