"ANOTHER CLIMATE" is an intensive 1984 cyberpunk rewrite of my 1977 prog-punk song "Origin" and was deeply influenced by conversations I had with Laurie Anderson. The second keyboard player (Bob Neft) with whom I'm dueting had previously played with Bo Diddley, among others.

Synthesizers: ARP AVATAR, Moog LIBERATION, Moog POLYMOOG 203A, Sequential PROPHET-5. Effect: Eventide HARMONIZER. Electronic Percussion: Linn LINNDRUM, Pollard SYNDRUM QUAD.

Wow!

Clouds with thunderbolts populate a tortured sky;
Clouds with thunderbolts rain down terror as they cry.

As the storm roars on,
We cling for comfort
In Pennsylvanian…
Night.

While the weather presents one more reason for rage,
My heart rattles the bars of its skeletal cage.
And although altered pressures remain illegal on main street,
We find no shelter from the freezing sleet.

Metal machine move monster,
Steel and chrome!
We cannot cross this wall,
So we gather in our shadow horde,
Restless cage.
We rush them anyhow!
Now!
And are splattered on the concrete floor!
I am under,
Pound pound down down...
New world, new form,
Red sands!

Wham!

Beams of living light hit the floor and start to bend;
Beams of living light illuminate my abdomen.

Another climate
Liberates my brain
From repressive rain…
But…

It vanishes too soon; I only catch a glimpse;
With each passing second, my recollection dims.
Yet I’ll always know an alternative awaits,
And I’ll explore dark beauties in search of its gates!
