about

A rewrite of this 1977 poem would later become the bridge to "Into The Vision" in 1984. This version is a cinematic sonic portrait of a mother star that has multiple miscarriages while pregnant with twelve planetary fetuses.

Synthesizers: Hammond 102100, Maestro THEREMIN. Organ: Vox CONTINENTAL. Effects: Maestro ECHOPLEX, Maestro PHASE SHIFTER.

lyrics

"A DOZEN EGGS"

Umbilical cords tie world to world
In the system of a remote star-sun,
And when this complex entity is born,
Galaxies will bend, and stars will fall,
For this is the thirteenth coming.

Magnetic colors cradle a pensive cosmos
During a voracious growth period,
Precisely wraith-like clusters
In protogenic womb spirals.
This cathode dominated tyranny
Revels one with splenetic techno enchantments,
Rote and surly, blind at three hundred and sixty degrees.
Exchange of wastes and nutrients continues.

Dissonance enters stage left!
Chimerical unit-factors fly!
Suspended elements disintegrate!
Garnish torment! Pivotal hazard!
The womb becomes tomb!
Death’s head in a spider’s web,
The scope and scale of the crypt!
